Missing Peace

Missing Peace

“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you;
not as the world gives do I give to you.
Do not let your heart be troubled, don’t you
fear,” said the pastor quoting words so true.

Peace He left but peace the world never got
not when hating hearts lift guns, spray bullets.
Not when mass murder is preached as God’s lot,
his portion, his edicts swapped for bullets.

He left peace but Roman sandals trampled
it; peace hasn’t been seen since. Saints, good people
and folk of all religious bents grappled
with the slaughter of innocent people.

Crying, they light candles and pray for peace,
that sweet release from violence’s surcease.

Dedicated to all those who lost their lives, their families and the global village who grieves. I can make no more sense of the senselessness of what happened in Paris or elsewhere in the world. I can only light a candle and pray.

  1. The truth in your words screams at me.. and it screams out loud. I do not how somebody can kill so many innocents in the name of God and yet if look back in time… the biggest massacres in the world have indeed been in the name God. Surely, we pray for peace but we should also pray for this God to open its and stop these killings in its name.

    1. that’s why we need an army of empaths to broadcast the pain that the actions taken in Paris and elsewhere have caused. No man, however, evil could stand against that and lift his gun or don his vest of explosives.
