One More Time
One more time, once more around the dance floor.
A second chance for heartfelt words to linger.
One more time, for three words to open doors.
Sung so eloquently by the singer.
One more time, a meeting made and we’ll meet
by candlelight and dinner where two hearts
in their separate cages beat; we beat feet
to the ship, Second Chance, to play our part.
One more time, once more we dance as music
plays but the show we call life must go on.
We never had that dance, nor heard music
sung that read our hearts, nor that sail at dawn.
I returned your smile one second too slow.
We passed as strangers, but our shadows know.
In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “one more time.”
“We passed as strangers, but out shadows know.” Just wow! I absolutely love this Melinda. The chance they never had, the chance that could have been all.

lost because a smile came too late 😦 what would have been, I’ll never know.

Perhaps it wasn’t meant to. Life’s a show that never slows, not for you, not for me, not until the final blow! Let’s look to the future.. May there’s another smile waiting for us! 🙂

I’ve realized I leave far too many words out when I comment. I hope you’re able fill in where I leave the blanks!🙄🙄 Sincere apologies!

I didn’t realize you’d left words out. I must be reading the missing words from your mind. 😉
