December’s Rise
November gives thanks to all who precede.
After the feast, it gracefully exits.
Autumn’s color fallen away indeed.
A landscape blanketed in leaves permits
December’s rise. It sweeps onto the stage
alight with seasons greetings, warm regards,
and Advent wreaths. ‘Fore the year turns the page,
dream of a white Christmas and write your cards;
send them with best wishes, then deck your tree.
‘Round your house string lights to guide Santa’s sleigh.
Recall those who’ve naught on your shopping spree.
Save something to donate; so on that sleigh,
by gifts wrapped in sparkle and shine, a gift of
your mercy waits, to be given with love.

Sarn, his son and other characters from the Curse Breaker Saga have had many exploits this past week.
They also lit the first candle of their Advent wreath (after a bit of a kerfuffle). Here’s what they’ve been up to:
- Faith
- Light the Wreath
- Pumpkin Chuckin’
- Lockdown
- What Do You Want to Be?
- Mistaken (Tomorrow’s post picks up right after this one ends)
Gorgeous Advent sonnet.. paints such a beautiful picture of the seasons changing, the spirit of giving and the festivities to follow. Loove December! 🙂

Thank you. It’s part of a series and a continuing narrative. I tried to make each piece also able to stand alone as well as in sequence.

Thank you 🙂 I’m two trick pony. I write prose-y, vignette-ish sonnets and epic fantasy novels and that’s it. 🙂 I play to my strengths. When I have beat those two horses to death several times over, I might try something else. Maybe.

Thank you, that was my hope by at 1 am this morning but I wasn’t certain if I’d accomplished it. I’m glad to hear that I did. 🙂
