Once out on the balcony proper, the sunlight teased Sarn. Light called to light and the internal glow held in check by his flimsy eyelids wanted out–now. The fresh, clean scent of the River Nirthal greeted him. No one occupied the balcony, so claimed his sixth sense.

He opened his eyes as green light washed over the balcony. It brightened as the red orb of the sun finished crowning Mount Crael in the distance and started to slide behind its peak.  That hated green glow muted every other color. It even washed the blues of out of the sky and turned the oranges to brown.
