Fortitude: Senryu’s Seven Virtues

The Seven Virtues of Senryu:

Fortitude

I am taking on the seven cardinal virtues in a senryu rumble. I couldn’t reach my blogging partner in  crime, so I’m going it alone. Wish me luck! Salvation, here I come! You better be ready to greet me at journey’s end.

Fortitude

Persist–take one step
Let the steps crack under you
Just take that next step

Endure the tempest
Ignore its swirling, cold winds
All storms in time

Hold back flood waters
Life surges, pushes on you
Dig your heels in, stand

Fire rings round you
Trials that come to smoke and ash
Press on despite all

    1. I wrote a piece called Love’s Decalogue, based on the ten commandments, you could put your spin on those stone tablet etches?

    1. You’re welcome and thank you for reading my little series. 🙂 I love that one too. That’s the image in my head when life starts to get tough. I imagine myself standing firm in its flow refusing to budge.
