Patience: Senryu’s Seven Virtues

The Seven Virtues of Senryu:

Patience

I am taking on the seven cardinal virtues in a senryu rumble. I couldn’t reach my blogging partner in  crime, so I’m going it alone. Wish me luck! Salvation, here I come! You better be ready to greet me at journey’s end.

Patience

Time ticks past unseen
Its hands swing but don’t control
Wait with forgiveness

Grass grows in its time
Buds open in their season
Hurry them, frost kills

Water flows, it knows
Speed changes with the incline
Placid waters wait

Winds push, shove forward
Move folks before they’re ready
Tear impatient life

Fire licks and slides
Tongues all in due time, fumes rise
Choke those who didn’t bide

So beautiful. And patience is a virtue I need the most. I’m so happy you wrote this.
