Transient* | Emotional ABCs

Always on the move
no fixed address since he left
his discharge, honored.

walks into problems
you don’t make it his business
he finishes it.

Ex-MP hitching around the country
never stays more than two days anywhere.
he’s seeing America as he flees
uses aliases at motels here
does some freelance work there undercover,
gets shot at, kidnapped, beaten up, prevents
assassinations, vanishes after
’cause he’s just a guy who hates permanence.
He inherited a house, then sold it
he buys clothes, wears them once, then throws them out.
Worked off the books on an FBI hit.
One time he helped the Secret Service out.
Lived his whole life in the military–
couldn’t find any solidarity.

Budget cuts cut him
sprung him loose to see the states
an orphan traveling.

Always on the move
he cuts strings that attach him
he needs to be free.

*Based on the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child.  I am plowing through the audio books version of the series and loving it. I highly recommend you add it to your reading list if you like thrillers with a likable lead.

  3. I LOVE this. Reacher rocks. There’s something about him. Indifference? Not giving a damn yet caring at the same time? Sexy nonetheless, and he doesn’t even know it!
