Xerox: Emotional ABCs

Xerox: Emotional ABCs

Place original
face down for contact transfer
clones made while you wait

Electrostatic
printing process for copies
no liquids needed

Take a sheet of paper, parts of it that
line up with the image or text that need
to be transferred are sensitized with that
good ‘ol static electricity feed.
So when powdered with that black toner stuff,
which carries the opposite charge, only
charged areas attract that toner stuff,
which fuses with paper to make only
one permanent copy of that import
list, which I folded and stuffed in my bag.
The original I destroyed for sport.
Corporate espionage you can’t flag.
Xerox’s my best friend, the shredder too.
I dropped the list in, headed to the loo.

Repair woman’s break
no one suspects xerox girls
secrets stay stolen.

Tucked into tool belt
tricks for white collar spy game
played blue collar cool.

  1. I really enjoyed this one – quite a departure from your poetic style (which I enjoy, as well). I like these lines the most:

“The original I destroyed for sport.
    Corporate espionage you can’t flag.
Xerox’s my best friend, the shredder too.
I dropped the list in, headed to the loo.

    Repair woman’s break
    no one suspects xerox girls
    secrets stay stolen.

    Tucked into tool belt
tricks for white collar spy game
    played blue collar cool.”

    COOL!

  2. Never underestimate anyone. Be careful what you say and where you say it. Understand people’s agenda. Know how to play the game and be diplomatic.
    Wise words. ☺️
