Tattoos and rings armor him against the demons trying to claw their way in.
Hidden in each inky swirl is his name and they ward against possession.
Each time he moves, he adds a new name to his flesh, another layer of protection, but they’re still coming.

It’s always hard to escape our demons.. But hey, at least his wards look good. π This was great!

Interesting piece. I like how you present the tattoo as ‘armor.’ Often, with so many tattoos, that could be true for certain people. But perhaps you mean more in a magical sense they ward off demons?

Yes I’m toying with the idea of magical wards tattoed on skin. I’ve used tattoos in other ways in other stories so I’m intersted to see how this plays out.

I’ve never participated in a 3 line tale prompt before, but I’m seeing a lot of the bloggers I follow participate in it. I may join soon π

I used to do then religiously but I’ve gotten so bogged down with work that I had to start writing my posts way in advance. I haven’t had time to do one offs. I will have more time after 9/27. I love prompts.

Your work sounds extremely busy! What’s so special about September 27, if I may ask?
I love prompts too. They really do help to keep the muse working π

The life of a project manager is never dull. π On Sept 27, the ebook version of Curse Breaker: Enchanted will deliver to those souls who have purchased it while it was on preorder. Then the real marketing begins. I had wanted the print and audio editions to be available that day too but I underestimated how much time I’d have outside of work to edit. So the editing went slowly. I have 16 days to finish the final edit. I am trying not to freak out. 9/27 is also my late sister’s birthday. Her last request was that I publish Curse Breaker: Enchanted. So it’s a present to her. She died in 2014 at the age of 29 from complications of diabetes and I even miss the arguments we had over movies, music and books.

Oh gosh…I’m equally excited and heartbroken by the news. Congratulations on making it this far in the journey!! A lot does go into publishing a book, especially if you’re self-publishing (are you?). And I’m so sorry to hear about your late sister. I think it’s amazing that you fulfilled her last request and I think it’s safe to say she’s your biggest supporter, wherever she is resting now. β€

Thank you. Yes I self-edited. I tried for two years after my sister died to save enough for a professional edit but I’m barely staying afloat financially these days. So I decided to give it my best shot. I’m flat out terrified I won’t finish in time.

Good luck good luck! If you need to take a brief hiatus from blogging to focus on your personal writing, you should definitely do so. We’ll still be here when you come back π

Thank you π I’m just freaking out because I reached the end and was one plot thread short. I have to dive in over the weekend and figure out where that thread went and weave it in where it belongs.

Eeep, glad you caught it! That’s the important thing :)! But don’t forget to breathe as well and do your best to try to enjoy this journey. You’ve worked hard and you deserve to pat yourself on the back!

Thank you π at least I have 16 days to fix it. I have to turn in the final draft on 9/17. So There is still time and I know what thread I dropped and how to fix it.
