Chapter 17 is up!
Hey Readers! I posted chapter 17 from Curse Breaker Enchanted, and I think I’ve finally solved some of the sound issues past recordings have had. This one sounds much more natural to me. That’s good news but also bad because I’ll have to rerecord the first 16 chapters. But I’m willing to do that to achieve my goal of a professional-sounding audio book read by me, the author. It’ll just take longer to achieve that goal. Oh well. If this were easy, anyone could do it. I hope you enjoy this episode. It’s the first of three where Sarn spends … Continue reading Chapter 17 is up!
She knows!
Hi Readers, The Scribe might be on to me. (This is Ran, Sarn’s son from the Curse Breaker series.) What does the Scribe know? You’ll need to watch this short video to find out: Continue reading She knows!

Saved by a book: the full story
Hi Readers, I’m writing to you from the past because a tropical storm is forecasted to pass though with high winds and heavy rain, but I still need to pop into your inbox. So here I am, your favorite fictional character. (It’s me, Ran, Sarn’s son from the Curse Breaker series continuing to monopolize this email in case you were wondering, and no, I’m not the problem. Robin is, but I’ll get to that in a bit.) Our last email was kind of heavy and dark, and we’re sorry for that, but today’s won’t be. The Scribe is okay. She … Continue reading Saved by a book: the full story
Chapter 16 is up!
In addition to discussing the dark turn my life took this week, I also narrated chapter 16 of Curse Breaker Enchanted. I hope you enjoy it. Continue reading Chapter 16 is up!
Saved by a book: a close call, a dark turn, and a new release
Here’s what happened. Ran, Sarn’s son from the Curse Breaker series, touched on this a little in Thursdays special edition of my newsletter, but this is the full story, told by me. I lightly edited it because ums and ahs drive me crazy, but other than that, I didn’t edit as heavily as I have edited other voice overs I’ve made in the past to preserve the authenticity of it. This video isn’t gory and doesn’t go into that kind of detail about what happened because I am not that kind of author. I write epic fantasy books about families, … Continue reading Saved by a book: a close call, a dark turn, and a new release

NaNoWriMo, Hard Magic, and warring characters
Hi Readers! NaNoWriMo started this past week, and you might be wondering what that is. Melinda, your indie fantasy author, and our fearless scribe, explains in a special video where she takes you a short tour of the fall foliage in her corner of New York state because she’s too shy to get on camera. (This is Ran, Sarn’s son, as usual, writing to you on her behalf.) Melinda also talks about Rogue Ranger, the book she’s writing and she even mentioned fighting with Robin. So it’s not just me saying it. I have receipts! The Scribe admits it more … Continue reading NaNoWriMo, Hard Magic, and warring characters
What’s happening: Week of Nov. 6
Hi Readers! Here’s a rundown of what happened this week. NaNoWriMo began on November first, and your indie fantasy author, Melinda Kucsera, who is also our Scribe, made a video explaining: The Scribe talks all things NaNoWriMo while she walks in the woods and gives you a mini-tour of her corner of New York in the fall. So you can get some autumn color while listening to what’s going on: Robin posted the 10th chapter from Rogue Ranger, the action-packed wild ride that is her third book on Patreon for your reading pleasure. Can she and Shade work together? Or … Continue reading What’s happening: Week of Nov. 6

She tricked us!
Hi Readers! Happy Halloween! We’ve got some tricks and some treats for you. This is Ran, Sarn’s son, and your usual narrator back for some Halloween hijinks. First off, I want to thank our Patrons and remind them to check their inboxes. We sent out ebook copies of a special edition of Curse Breaker Books 7-9 with the covers for the books, a black and white illustrated alt cover and some color images of Papa and myself. It’s something new were trying to make Patreon versions extra special. The set without images will be in stores hopefully in a few … Continue reading She tricked us!

Hi Readers and listeners! I’ve got three treats for you today! Treat one: This is Ran, Sarn’s son and official camera person. I filmed the Scribe, Melinda Kucsera, talking to us, characters, about what she’s writing, and what’s happening in the ongoing war with Robin: Treat Two: Read the first 6 chapters of Rogue Ranger, the third Robin of Larkspur book, now. The full book will be in book stores next year, according to the above video. But you can travel to the future and read all the madness as it’s written! (If you haven’t started the series, now’s a … Continue reading New episodes and chapters posted – week of Oct. 29 roundup!

Have We Lost Our Rogues?
Hi Readers! Your favorite characters and our Scribe have had a busy week. Let’s dive into it! First off, Books by Adrian, a YouTuber and soon-to-be author, interviewed our Scribe. Most of the questions were author-focused, not book focused, so you know more about what’s going on with us and our books than anyone who watched the program. Pat yourself on the back for being up to date on all the latest tea starring us. (This is Ran, Sarn’s son and sidekick, and your newsletter host.) I have more tea to spill because Robin and our Scribe butted heads again … Continue reading Have We Lost Our Rogues?

Rogue Ranger is here
Rogue Ranger is here, and she’s kind of feral. Let me explain and show you the receipts. The Receipts/proof: Melinda, our Scribe, said Robin was doing things against the rules of our world here. Robin posted this note in response. Then she posted the first chapter of her third book here, the second chapter here, and the third one here. You’ll see that a certain character, my wonderful Papa, (yes, this is Ran, his son and sidekick writing to you) is the innocent victim in all this. I rest my case. Robin has lost her marbles in this one. After … Continue reading Rogue Ranger is here

We have no more rings
Hi Readers, Season 1 of the Rings of Power show ended this past week and I, your favorite fictional character, Ran, the son of Sarn, I’m glad it did. Maybe now I can get some page time. This will be a spoiler-free email, so if you haven’t watched it, you can read on with confidence. I’m not here to talk about the Rings of Power. Melinda, our Scribe, has done enough of that in her tiktoks, her YouTube vids, and her podcast. I’ll linked them, so if you want to find out what she had to say, you can do … Continue reading We have no more rings
