Get Sundered Now!
Be careful what you promise. Oaths can kill. Get Sundered now! Magic might be stronger when it’s broken, but the promises Sarn forged with them are even stronger. Two conflicting promises bind Sarn. He must satisfy them both even though a monster’s chasing him and an evil entity keeps trying to take his soul. Serving more than one master is not only damned near impossible without magic, it’s also deadly. But Sarn doesn’t have a choice because his word is his bond, and he gave his word to Death’s Marksman and an otherworldly entity named J.C. who just might be … Continue reading Get Sundered Now!
Strolling Chapters
The cast is happy our scribe decided to re-read the forthcoming Curse Breaker: Sundered. I might have called her paranoid in Monday’s newsletter. (Psst. You can read it here if you missed it: https://melindakucsera.com/2018/11/19/a-snowy-adventure-in-november-o_0/) I was wrong. Somehow four chapters took to wandering around the book and ended up out of order. I blame the Newsletter-Dragon. This is the kind of prank she’d pull. Worry not, our scribe noticed right away something was amiss, and she put those chapters in their rightful place. I’m keeping an eye on them to ensure they stay where they belong. –Ran, Son of Sarn, … Continue reading Strolling Chapters
A Snowy Adventure in November o_0
Hi Readers, ‘Twas the week before Thanksgiving [in America], and all through the town, snow started falling, making everyone frown. Business owners hemmed and hawed and finally quit guffawing at the preposterous storm hitting the town. Worried employees stood by the windows making such a palaver, their bosses told them to go. Onto the clogged roads, they went, skidding on ice and the snow fast-covering the town. A sea of taillights stretched onto the horizon, making everyone groan. No road was clear. There was no escape, so our brave little scribe hunkered down and drove into the night. Her car skidded … Continue reading A Snowy Adventure in November o_0
Fiery Scribes
Our scribe is not coming home tonight. The cast is turning back. The roads are just too treacherous to drive on. But as this snap shows, she’s got fire, so she’s staying warm. But she’s not finishing our book. 😦 Damn you snow! –Ran, son of Sarn Continue reading Fiery Scribes
Snow and stranded scribes
Our scribe is stranded but safe due to the weather. It’s snowing heavily where she works. The cast is mobilizing to rescue her. –Ran, son of Sarn from the Curse Breaker series Continue reading Snow and stranded scribes
In the fictional dog house
Uh oh. She noticed. The scribe isn’t too happy with me. I’m banished until Melinda finishes editing Sundered. She says I increase the page count just by standing by her. 😦 Hope you’re having an awesome day! –Ran, the “word-count increasing” son of Sarn Continue reading In the fictional dog house
And the scene goes on… ;)
Oh no! We didn’t post this week’s adventure! Without further ado, here it is, dear readers: https://melindakucsera.com/2018/11/12/the-spirit-asked-for-another-scene/ I’m so sorry for the delay. I was busy wrangling another scene out of our overworked scribe. I might have succeeded. But don’t tell Melinda. She hasn’t realized the chapter titled Oh, Guardian, Most Dear is really two chapters smooshed into one. But she will. And I got my extra scene even though she forbade any more! 🙂 (Papa’s in it too because I go where he goes in Sundered.) Life is good. — Ran, the “scene-stealing” … Continue reading And the scene goes on… 😉
The Spirit Asked for Another Scene
Hi Readers! We have good and bad news. We’ll start with the good first. Our scribe voted, and her vote must have saved the world from a terrible fate because a) it’s still spinning, and b) the everyone and their brother stopped texting her to vote. So rest easy. All is well. Somehow our scribe made it so. We have no details about that yet, but clearly, she’s developed a superpower we were not aware of. Now for the bad news. Curse Breaker: Sundered is not publishing today. I know. We’re sad about that too, but J.C. lobbied for an additional … Continue reading The Spirit Asked for Another Scene
Extra awesome
Last night, our scribe tried valiantly to end our fifth adventure, Curse Breaker: Sundered. But J.C. got extra awesome. So our scribe wrote an additional scene for Him instead of finishing the book. Now he’s angling for another one. Our scribe’s sitting in the corner with her head in her hands because this book won’t end. But she’s kind of at work right now and people are starting to stare. So we’re going to be good characters and mosey on over there to beg for more scenes–I mean comfort her. 😁 More page time is good, am I right? –Ran, … Continue reading Extra awesome
Vote for non-fictional characters ;)
Your favorite fictional character is back to remind you to get out and vote. Vote for those who can’t. Vote for those who fought for the right to vote. Vote because your ballot is your voice and it matters. Vote because a fictional character told you to. 😉 — Posted by Ran, Son of Sarn, with permission from my scribe. You can tell her I was here. 🤗 Continue reading Vote for non-fictional characters 😉
Vote for the Dragon
The Fate of the world is no longer hanging in the balance. Our scribe voted. The world is safe from dragons, even the digital one that stalks through our newsletter and occasionally singes this website. But there are other dragons that need slaying. So get out there and vote. Save your corner of the world. And stop texting our scribe. She did her civic duty. Go do yours. — the cast of the Curse Breaker series Continue reading Vote for the Dragon
The Shining One Needs Help
Hi Readers, Instead of our regularly scheduled adventure, we’re bringing you Part 2 of Chapter 2 from Curse Breaker: Sundered. (In case you missed it here’s: Chapter 1 & Part 1 of Chapter 2.) We hope you enjoy it while we gear up for the book launch! So far, we’re still on track for Nov. 12 even though Papa got extra awesome near the end, and that required some extra scenes. I’m right there with him, so you know I’m happy. And you should be too. Those scenes are extra bang for your bucks. 🙂 You’re welcome. But our scribe is not … Continue reading The Shining One Needs Help
Call in the Guards (Part 1)
Hi Readers, Instead of our regularly scheduled adventure, we’re bringing you the part one of chapter 2 from Curse Breaker: Sundered. (Last week we debuted chapter 1. Read it here.) We hope you enjoy it while we gear up for the book launch, which is tentatively planned for November 12. We’re hoping for sooner than that, but our scribe is working all week and half of next weekend, and she may not be able to finish the final round of edits and um, format the book, so it’s readable. That’s kind of important. If she can get everything done sooner, … Continue reading Call in the Guards (Part 1)
The Price of Free Will
Hi Readers, We’re back. Instead of our regularly scheduled adventure, we’re proud to bring you a preview of Curse Breaker: Sundered. We’ll have full details about when it’ll be on sale in our next newsletter. We just couldn’t get our act together about that for this week. We were too excited about the preview. It starts seconds after the end of Curse Breaker: Falls. In case you forgot, we’re under Mount Eredren and somewhere within the confusing jumble of tunnels called the Lower Quarters where we and unfortunately, the monsters dwell. Enjoy! CURSE BREAKER: SUNDERED (Preceded by: Curse Breaker: Books … Continue reading The Price of Free Will
