Ejected | Curse Breaker
The air thickened. It resisted all attempts to penetrate it. When Sarn took a cautious a step forwards, it pushed him back causing him to cede ground. Noloโs grip broke as Sarn stumbled backwards out of the stone ring. Something warm brushed his hands as he raised them to examine the barrier erected against him. It flowed like water and yet it was comprised of a veil of tiny particles that sparked on his skin. If he removed the blindfold, he bet the barrier would glow the same hue and intensity as his eyes. They might even be made of the same thing.
Before Sarn could explore this novel discovery, Nolo seized him and shook him.
โWhat happened? Why did you retreat?โ
โI didnโt. It expelled me.โ

I was wondering what could have been in that area that pushed him away until I read through the comments and saw everyone else was keen to know as well ๐
Worry not, Sarn gets to the bottom of this soon enough ๐ Thank you again for sharing this. I’m hoping to have some time this weekend to work on finishing the novel. My fingers are crossed on that.
Ah, Melinda, you are such a wonderful storyteller. I am convinced you could spin a tale in any genre and breathe it life.
Thank you for your wonderful comment! It brightened up a gloomy Tuesday ๐
You are welcome, my friend. Glad to have been able to bring a little light ๐
๐
You are an expert in dialog! ๐
Thank you ๐
I echo the same questions as Rosemawrites above. So many interesting possibilities!
Yes, and we’ll explore them all in this book and the next one. For now there is an immediate reason for the circle’s behavior. One Sarn will show up next time.
Great! ๐
๐ So glad you are along for the ride even though this not your genre of choice.
I guess for me it’s like music. If it’s good I like it no matter what genre. Yours is unique and fresh. I’m glad too.
yay! reading your comment cleared out some of the doubt that creeps in at night when I am alone with my words. I am grateful for them ๐
I too, know that feeling! :/
When you live alone, doubt is your constant companion because there is no one there to drive it away.
Oh! What will happen next? And why does an area repel Sarn while another part do not??
You are surely so good on exciting us, Mel! โค
There’s a really good reason for that repulsion. One that Sarn will encounter next time. ๐
Oooooh! Now I am more excited to learn more about this enchanted world!
You will! Sarn comes into cross section of the magical weirdness that is his homeland every time he leaves his cave ๐
Ohhhh. Interesting! As I know more about Shayari I came to admire you more, Mel!
Thank you! It’s my home away from home ๐
Yeah!!! I can feel your fondness with Shayari in every word that you write. ๐
thank you! ๐
You’re always welcome! ๐
