I’m a Writer and I have a Gun*

*A collaboration with Annie from What the Woman Wrote

Thank you Annie for grabbing your gun and helping me combat copyright infringement and the anger associated with finding my words and the words I have crafted with other talented writers splashed on other websites without my consent. Thank you for co-writing a mirrored nonet to channel my anger.

I’m a Writer and I have a Gun

I’ve got my evil eye on you, thief
You can run, but you can not hide
My words are in your pocket
Tied up, but screaming out
I’ve got my glock cocked
Ready to shoot!
Bang! You’re dead
Theft kills
Like murder!
My words set free
Running back to me
Respect copyright please!
My artwork is my passion
Write your own content, don’t steal mine!
Don’t ever get near my words, you creep!

If you have no original content to post, DO NOT STEAL mine.
Do NOT ‘reblog’.
DO NOT ‘PressIt’.
If you like something you read, write a nice note telling others about my work and link them to me.

  1. I’m sad and angry to hear of this–I was wondering if it was someone else I’d been wary of…which now makes me think there are probably many too lazy or untalented to write their own work, so they turn to thievery. Love your poem!!!

  2. Sorry to hear that your work has been plagiarized, Melinda and I am loving this response in collaborative ass-kicking. Those who steal the work of others are pathetic. I hope this person has received the message. Great collab!!
