Can fictional characters think nonfictional thoughts?

Good morning all!

We’re thinking of writing a book titled:

‘A fictional character’s guide to book marketing.’

Since we’re fictional, can we still shelve that in the nonfiction department?

(Don’t tell Melinda we’re thinking of doing this. Since we’re fictional, she’d have to do said writing.

But if we did it, would it give us street cred? Our scribe’s read a book recently that talked about how a book lends authority. We want that authority. We’re actually not very good at marketing, but maybe writing this book would make us overnight experts?)
