Three books or one omnibus? How do you like your trilogies?

Hey!

I need your help again. Would you cast your vote and help us break the deadlock? Certain characters have raised some interesting points and now the cast is quarrelling again.

What are we arguing about now?

Do you want the Rogue Gods Trilogy as separate books or as one omnibus?

We’ve never put out a trilogy all at once because we don’t usually get our act together far enough in advance to do that. But Melinda has become really good at motivating us to show up and see a story arc through to the end or else.

What does she threaten us with?

More stories! If we want them, then we have to finish the ones we’re already in. I don’t think that’s very fair, but I want more stories, so I’ll show up to keep her happy so the stories keep flowing.

This is Ran, as usual, the chatty little boy in the Curse Breaker series, and I’m happy to report that I’m just as chatty as an adult in the Rogue Gods Trilogy. I might look exactly like my papa, who is the curse breaker in the Curse Breaker series, but that’s where the similarities end.

He’s quiet, and I’m not, but we’re both very magical in different ways, and we’re definitely heroes. You won’t find me switching teams to work magic for the villains. Papa would never allow that anyway.

But there are a few characters who get a bit confused about which side they’re on in the Rogue Gods Trilogy. And I’m happy to report that book 2 of the Rogue Gods Trilogy is done and not being edited!

So Melinda will start writing book 3, Storm the Gates, today actually, and I have big plans for that book. But I’ll talk more about that in a future newsletter because I digressed again…

Since we’ve never published a whole trilogy at the same time so this creates some confusion for us characters, and we need another poll so you can sort us out. Because we desperately need some sorting out.

Thank you for voting! And now back to our continuing coverage of the book wars.

We’ve talked a lot about Stars & Angels Singso I’ll just remind you it’s publishing to all the stores on Feb. 22. If you missed the Kickstarter, it’s now for sale at your favorite online bookseller in ebook, and there’s a paperback version for sale on Amazon.

The paperback for sale on Amazon isn’t signed, but it has all the images that the Kickstarter version did, and it’s the same price because color printing expensive. Who knew?

The ebook that’s on Amazon, etc, doesn’t have images because of the delivery fees. So the version with color images in the ebook is only available through our store since Bookfunnel doesn’t charge delivery fees for that. And now, back to my feud with Robin.

You might be wondering why I went with Stars & Angels Sing to beat Robin to the publishing line—I mean to publish as a tribute to Melinda’s sister. And that’s because the next Curse Breaker book isn’t done yet. So it can’t publish it yet no matter how mad Papa is about the cliffhanger we ended with in Shards For His Gift, book 10 of the Curse Breaker Series. And he’s super mad about that.

The villain who caused the cliffhanger had better watch out in book 11, Chasing Dragons, because he’s on the warpath. I’ve never seen my dad this mad about anything. But he doesn’t get mad at me.

And I promise to tell you about my new plan to beat Robin soon, but I can’t do it in this email because I’m still working out the details. They say the devil’s in the details, but I’m trying to make sure he’s not in there because I play to win.

I just need to make a little more progress on my plan, so Robin can’t pull the rug out from under me like she did last week. And Melinda needs to write some more of Storm the Gates, book 3 of the Rogue Gods Trilogy too. My plan and that book might be connected, but that’s all I can say for now until I beat Robin fair and square.)

But I digressed again. Get ready for Rogue Rescue on March 10, 2024.

What’s it about? I forgot to tell you that last week. So this week, I need to correct that, and doing that might just keep Robin busy.

Robin has a big problem. Her plan to rescue her baby didn’t come with an escape plan. Now, she’s trapped in a magical valley with the half-human hunters who took her daughter, and the creatures they summoned.

Not even the mage who helped her find her daughter can save them now because he’s just as trapped as she is, and the guardian of this valley is out to get her for breaking its rules…

But at least Robin got her daughter back. Keeping her baby alive is another problem, but one Robin is determined to solve. Losing her baby is not an option.

The hunters become the hunted in book 4 of the Robin of Larkspur series. Get Rogue Rescuenow to find how far a mother will go to ensure her daughter survives.

If you’re new to the series, start with Hunter’s Nightor get the first three books of the series in this handy omnibus.

And also, please keep Melinda and her family in your thoughts and prayers. Her father was rushed to the hospital a few days ago.
