How have you been? I know. You’re waiting for my reaction to what that dragon did on Friday. But I can’t be mad at her because who doesn’t love a sale?
But why put Curse Breaker Darkens on sale instead of Curse Breaker Enchanted? Yes, you can read Curse Breaker Darkens reading Curse Breaker Enchanted, but why would you want to?
Anyway, Curse Breaker Darkens is on sale until 11 pm PST Feb. 22 (today) on Amazon US and until 11 pm GMT on Feb. 23 on Amazon UK, which is weird. Why not make the sales for the same days? Maybe you need to be a dragon to understand that.
If you missed Friday’s message from the Newsletter-Dragon, check your promotional or spam folders or you can read her message on our website. She put a little spoiler in it.
We post all our newsletters on our blog after they’re sent to you. You get everything first.
And now for the moment we’ve all been waiting for. I can finally talk about…
Note From A Fictional Character
We wanted to put the dragons in Curse Breaker Sundered, but they didn’t fit. So, they’re in Curse Breaker Hidden, starting with a deleted chapter from Curse Breaker: Sundered, featuring my best friend, Saveen, instead of the last chapter from that book. I thought those extra two scenes would make a better entry point.
As you’ll see next week, Saveen didn’t make an appearance in the last book because he doesn’t run very fast on two legs. He’s built for flying. But flying would blow his cover, and his Mama made him promise not to do that, so he was stuck running. It took him a long time to get from the ring of standing stones where we last saw him in Curse Breaker Falls to the Lower Quarters where we are now.
We had no dragon back up in the last book, but that’s about to change, and that’s all the spoilers you’ll get from me. But that’s not really a spoiler because we did mention in our newsletter that there will be dragons. They just didn’t arrive in time to be part of Curse Breaker Sundered.
There wasn’t anything we could do about that. Saveen can only move so fast, and that isn’t very fast at all. He’s much taller than I am since he’s a baby dragon and all, but I can run circles around him. (This is Ran, son of Sarn, in case you didn’t know.)
Running on two legs hurts his back and legs because his spine and hips aren’t set up for bipedal locomotion. It’s also hard for him to balance on two feet. When I hang out with Saveen, he’s usually down on all fours pretending to be what he is—a dragon. I usually hop on his back, and we play knight defender. It’s a fun game, and it allows him to run around the way nature intended.
Of course, I didn’t know Saveen was a dragon until he slipped up in Curse Breaker Falls and let me see some of his dragon-form. But I’m perceptive, so I knew something was up with him. I’m pretty sure Papa did too, but his magic flagged Saveen as harmless, and that was enough for Papa.
Next week, we’ll see what Saveen, Jerlo and the other people we couldn’t squeeze into Curse Breaker Sundered were doing while Papa and I grappled with a dangerous magical item.

*Coming soon in 2021*
(There’s some debate about the title of the sequel to Curse Breaker Trapped, as usual and where Spell of Shadow & Light falls since it is technically a prequel, but it features events mentioned in Curse Breaker Hidden. So we put it after it because that made the most sense, and you might want to hang out with Thing and his extended family of mind-talking OwlCats again after seeing them in action in Curse Breaker Hidden.)
Have an awesome week! We’ll have more next week as our coverage of Curse Breaker Hidden continues. I am so excited. I hope you are too. Curse Breaker Hidden has been in development for quite a while to make it the best book possible. It is chock full of everything you’ve asked about and some fun surprises that will take our series in a new and more fun direction.
