Hi Readers,

I think the subject line says it all. What’s so awkward?

Well, we released Curse Breaker Revealed into the wild (I mean bookstores). This is Ran, Sarn’s son by the way, and yes, I do need to say that every time because sometimes other characters pop in and talk to you. They’re not doing that today, though.

It’s just me here, holding down the fictional fort. But I digress, as I often do. This time, I am digressing on purpose to put off talking about the awkward thing, but I guess I should get to the point.

What’s so awkward, take two.

Okay, here it is. Kindle Vella is running a promotion right now that lets you read 100 episodes for free each day until Oct. 11.

You don’t need to do anything to unlock this deal except click on the episode you want to read. It will open and you will not be asked to use a token or purchase any until you have exceeded the 100 free episodes they are giving away each day. But you do need to be logged into your Amazon account. (We tested this.)

You can read any story. Unfortunately, Kindle Vella is only open to US residents right now to read.

Why am I telling you this?

Because Curse Breaker Revealed is still posted on Kindle Vella. All 69 chapters. There’s also 10 chapters of a sea dragon adventure on there.

Now do you see why this is so awkward?

We just found out about this yesterday, when it began, and we agonized over what to do.

If we tell you and you read the whole book for free, then how do we pay for the sequel?

But if you saw it and we didn’t tell you, that would be bad.

When you subscribed to our newsletter, you trusted us, characters, to be open and honest with you. So that’s what we’re doing.

We’re telling you about something that could hurt us because it’s the right thing to do.

If you do choose to read either story, maybe toss a coin to your favorite character and buy the book too. Or another book we star in, so we can publish new books for you to enjoy.
