Tempting News

Hi readers,

We promised this week we’d reveal what our next book to go into the writing queue will be. But first, we need to catch up on what’s happened this week. Your favorite character has been up to something, and I think you’ll like it.

Before we do that, I hope you had a good week and that this next week will be even better.

What do we do this week?

Now, that’s a great question, and it ties directly into what our topic today. I love it when I plan comes together.

Who am I?

I’m your host, Ran, the son of Sarn. (Sarn is the curse breaker in the Curse Breaker series, and I’m the best sidekick ever. I’ll prove that in a just a moment. Don’t you worry.

This week, I used my sidekick skills to convince my Scribe, Melinda Kucsera, that we needed more scenes. I hope you’re proud of me.

But wait there’s more. How can there be more?

Oh, trust me, there’s always more, and we’re delivering it hopefully this summer depending on editors and cover designers and other book publishing stuff that requires advanced scheduling.

What’s this ‘more’ I keep mentioning?

Well, it’s been a while since we’ve done an extended epilogue and shown you some of the fun things we get into after we finish an adventure. I don’t think we’ve been able to do that since the end of Curse Breaker Enchanted because after that book, we got involved in a big storyline that required multiple books to resolve. (We had a lot of villains to fight, and Papa lost his magic, so that didn’t help.)

Then there was that crossover thing we did with our sister series (His Angelic Keeper). several book crossover monster fight thing. But that ended for us in Curse Breaker Hidden. Or did it?

As you may have guessed, it’s not over. The Adversary still needs a one-way trip back to Hell. He flew off to do some mischief somewhere else at the end of Curse Breaker Hidden, and a couple of angels kidnapped Auntie Sovvan to go after him. They planned to stop the Adversary from breaking something called ‘the seals.’

Apparently, they’re a good thing for us and a bad thing for the Adversary. We don’t want those seals to fail.

That gave me an idea. If keeping those seals from breaking is such an important mission, then we should help Auntie Sovvan. She shouldn’t have to face this on her own.

What if the angels who kidnapped her don’t help her? What if she needs magic?

Papa excels at magical use since he’s the mage. But I help by keeping him on task. Sometimes, his magic distracts him, and he needs external reminders about danger and other things. That’s my role.

And Auntie Sovvan spent multiple books saving us. Isn’t it time we returned the favor?

Plus, as an added bonus, I get new scenes, and Papa and Uncle Miren do too, but mostly it’s me. Because I’m the best sidekick ever, and Auntie Sovvan doesn’t have a sidekick. She needs me now more than ever.

And that leads me the announcement I promised last week.

What will the next book in the writing queue be?

His Angelic Keeper 4, which we’re tentatively calling, Tempted. It will end the crossover between our two series.

His Angelic Keeper Tempted will publish after His Angelic Keeper Fallen. (Fallen is book 3 in the His Angelic Keeper series). His Angelic Keeper Fallen is with the editor right now. We’ll have more on that book in the coming weeks. (It has a live action-chess game in it! Okay, no more spoilers. I promise.)

When will His Angelic Keeper Fallen and His Angelic Keeper Tempted publish?

We’re working on a summer publish for Fallen with Tempted to follow as soon as possible, But we don’t have exact dates yet. His Angelic Keeper Tempted is about 50% written, and it should go quicker now that I’m on board (and Papa too). I need my new scenes, and I need them now. (So you can read them.)

His Angelic Keeper Tempted doesn’t have a cover yet, but we’ll be getting that sorted in a few weeks when our designer is available. We can’t get an editing date until we know when the book will be done, so we’ll have to work that out later.

So that’s the plan for our books. After His Angelic Keeper Tempted, our Scribe will finish Rogue Spells (yay, more scenes for me!) because it ties into the story arc that’s ending in His Angelic Keeper Tempted. So it makes sense that would be next book in the writing queue.

After that we’ll be either Mage Hunter or Rogue Ranger. The Scribe wants to get Robin’s 3rd, 4th and 5th books out because her fifth one contains a scene that was in Curse Breaker Hidden.

Mage Hunter leads to the story where Papa and Nulthir first met. So we have to do that. We gave you a glimpse of it in Spell of Shadow & Light. That’s definitely on the to-do list.

What about Kindle Vella?

Since we don’t have a launch date for it, the Scribe is easily persuaded to work on our books instead. But that could be because working on The Lord of The Sea raises memories of her dearly departed sister, whom she originally wrote it for, so working on it is hard.

But she’s got the first episode ready to go if she’d just stop seconding-guessing herself and publish it. Episode 2 is 3/4 of the way written, but it’s 100% new material.

So that’s where we are today. I haven’t found a way to sneak into the The Lord of The Sea story yet, but I’m working on it. That story takes place on the other side of the continent, so I’m having trouble convincing the Scribe to drop me into it. But that’s what is magic is for, right?

Have an awesome week!
