Kidnapping Angels & Privacy Policies

Hi Readers, This is not your newsletter-dragon. She bungled things last week, so it falls to me to fix things or my brother and nephew will never get rescued and that, my dear friend, is unacceptable. I miss my nephew. Ran and I haven’t had much face time since I only just met him (in terms of the space-time continuum within our book world.) So I want to get him back. And let’s face it, if I see one more email mentioning GDPR, I’ll fling my halo chakram-style at the newsletter-dragon while shouting an ululating war cry. (I didn’t get … Continue reading Kidnapping Angels & Privacy Policies

Disintegrating Dragons & Impertinent Angels

Hi Readers, This is your newsletter-dragon again back for an encore performance because there’s no one to stop me. [Insert evil laughter here. Feel it reverberate through your bones.] 😉 Our kidnapped scribe and cast wish all the mothers out there a happy, though belated, Mother’s Day! We apologize for our tardiness. Our scribe’s had severe eye pain and other vision problems. But she’s on a new medication, and we’re hopeful that will fix the problem. Her eyes are very important to us! One last quick update then back to my primary goal—rescuing the characters you love. Oh, and ignore … Continue reading Disintegrating Dragons & Impertinent Angels

I’m Fan-girling hard here

I’m having a fan girl moment. (This is your scribe, Melinda.) My favorite author, Michael J. Sullivan, mentioned me in comment… It’s a conversation about his books, which I love, but maybe someday we’ll talk as authors do…. I dream of my books standing proud in an anthology with his… I’ve got a long way to go though. But someday I hope this will happen. I’m a huge fan… and OMG it would be so fun to promote that in my newsletter… The possibilities are endless!!! Can you see Ran and Sarn rubbing elbows with Royce and Hadrian? OMG… I’m … Continue reading I’m Fan-girling hard here

The Angels Are Coming!

Hi Readers! Well, our scribe did it. She finished Auntie Sovvan’s adventure by the deadline. Her first stab at main-character-hood will take her from the formless gray of limbo (the Gray Between) to the gates of heaven as she quests to find out the truth about her death. Of course, she’ll also try to save my Papa and I, but one demon, two dragons, five angels and a pack of memory-eating pachyderms stand in her way. Worry not, my auntie is one plucky soul as you saw in Curse Breaker: Enchanted + Curse Breaker: Falls. Here’s a sneak preview of: … Continue reading The Angels Are Coming!

The Newsletter-Dragon Speaks

Hi Readers, this is your newsletter-dragon speaking. Do not adjust your display properties. I am flying through cyberspace. Where’s Ran? He’s dimensionally challenged right now. That’s why I’m here. I want to save him. Why am I undertaking such a quest? Because I know who really kidnapped Melinda, our scribe. Sarn and Ran walked into a trap this cunning entity set for them two weeks ago. There are some things even J.C. cannot see when he builds a portal, but they can still distract Him. GDPR is one of them. But I am the newsletter-dragon, and I’ve been tracking this … Continue reading The Newsletter-Dragon Speaks

When Scribe-Eating Books Collide

Hi Readers, This is Sarn, Ran’s father. Something strange happened when we pushed through J.C.’s “window into another world” last week. The picture fuzzed and swirled, and reality splintered. “Come back!” J.C. called. “We can’t. We’re trapped.” And my magic didn’t like it. It kept shouting its usual objection, ‘unnatural,’ until I wanted to scream. Instead, I held tightly to my son’s tiny hand. Ran, in turn, clutched his Bear, but the stuffed annoyance had gone limp, and the twinkle had died from his button eyes. Magic was screaming inside my head, making it hard to think. It was also … Continue reading When Scribe-Eating Books Collide

The Bunny Did It

Hi Readers! Last week, I, Ran, son of Sarn, your lovable narrator, interrogated a giant bunny who may or may not be the Easter Bunny. He’s still not saying. That episode ended with a crash. Before we jump into that, I just want to thank you for joining us on this crazy experiment we call a newsletter. I, and our scribe, Melinda, are grateful that week after week you choose to open our emails and see what we’re up to. Thank you. We do this for you. We live to entertain. No, really, we’re fictional, so we only exist when … Continue reading The Bunny Did It

Interrogating Magical Creatures

Hi Readers, Last week, Papa, Melinda (aka our scribe), and I (Ran, son of Sarn, your lovable narrator) tried to escape a bad storm. A giant bunny with a basket of shiny eggs showed up and picked a fight with Bear. Yes, that Bear—my stuffed companion and our all-around cryptic Ghost Bear. You remember him from Curse Breaker: Faceted, right? Once the fight ended, I asked some hard questions. So without further ado, let’s get back to that. I *really* want to know the answers and this time, I might get them. Fictional Characters vs the Nor’easter Easter Bunny? (Part 2) … Continue reading Interrogating Magical Creatures

Bear vs the Easter Bunny

Hi Readers, The cast of the Curse Breaker series + our scribe, Melinda, would like to wish you a belated happy Passover, Easter and any other holidays we may have missed. Now back to our continuing adventure. When we last saw our heroes, Bear had just shown up, but he wasn’t very helpful. (If you need a refresher, check out part one, part two, part three and part four. I’ll wait.) Who will prevail—your favorite duo and their hapless scribe or the Easter Bunny? 0_o Where did he come from? Fictional Characters vs the Nor’easter Easter Bunny? Bear jumped, and … Continue reading Bear vs the Easter Bunny

We’re Boxed in! Free us now.

Hi Readers! We’re boxed in by this guy and his sidekick son 😉  Yes, our first ever boxed set is live. Get your copy here. It features the first four books of the Curse Breaker series in one electronic file. Auntie Sovvan still refuses to comment on her activities between Enchanted (book 1) and Falls (book 4), but we have a book in the works to chronicle what “heavenly business” kept her busy. It’s coming this summer. Now back to our continuing adventure. When we last saw our heroes, Papa had worked some impressive magic and it took its toll.  (If you … Continue reading We’re Boxed in! Bad Character

I’ve been a bad character. While my scribe was at work yesterday, I popped into an author group on Facebook and there was this post asking authors to “drop” a link to their newsletter sign-up page. All the comments went something like this: Hi there, sign up for my newsletter and get a free book. [Link] Boring. So I had a little fun. Hey, my scribe left me unsupervised with internet access. I’m not responsible for my actions. Papa should have been watching me instead of going for a run in the windy cold. So I posted this to liven … Continue reading Bad Character
